About compareratesusdtoinr.com

An independent, no-nonsense tool for one specific job: showing you which service delivers the most Indian rupees when you send US dollars to India.

Why this site exists

Millions of people send money from the United States to India every year, and the difference between the best and worst provider on the same transfer can be hundreds of rupees — money that quietly disappears into fees and exchange-rate margins. Most comparison pages are cluttered, out of date, or quietly reorder results. This site does one thing: it pulls live rates, normalises them to the amount that actually arrives, and ranks them honestly.

How it works

We aggregate live USD → INR rates from major remittance providers for a standard $1,000 transfer and refresh them roughly every ten minutes. Every provider is reduced to a single comparable figure — rupees received after fees and margin — and sorted from best to worst. We never hand-edit or reorder the results. Read the full methodology for details.

How we make money

To keep the site free, we may show advertisements and, in the future, may earn a referral commission if you choose a provider through one of our links — at no extra cost to you. This is important: our revenue never affects the ranking. The order is determined entirely by rupees received, and any sponsored or affiliate placement, if introduced, will be clearly labelled as such. See our terms & disclaimer.

What we are not

We are not a money-transfer company, a bank, or a financial adviser, and we are not affiliated with the providers listed. We do not handle your money or your personal transfer details — you complete every transfer on the provider's own site. Information here is for general comparison only and is not financial advice.

Who runs this site

compareratesusdtoinr.com is built and run by Praveen Thummaluru, a software engineer based in Cedar Park, Texas, with 14+ years of experience designing large-scale, cloud-based systems — AWS services, data pipelines, and REST APIs — at companies including Amazon, and most recently in the payments industry. He holds a master's in computer science from Arizona State University. This site runs on that same stack (AWS Lambda, S3, and a scheduled data pipeline that refreshes the rates) and grew out of regularly sending money from the US to India and wanting one honest answer to a simple question: which service actually delivers the most rupees?

Praveen is an engineer, not a financial adviser, so the site sticks to what can be measured — live exchange rates, fees, and the final rupee payout — and stays independent: it is not a money-transfer company and has no ownership stake in any provider listed. You can verify his background on LinkedIn.

Editorial standards & accuracy

Our guides are written in-house and checked against the live data we publish, and the comparison itself is pulled programmatically — we never hand-pick or hand-edit individual provider results. We hold ourselves to a few simple rules:

  • Rank by what arrives. Providers are ordered solely by the rupees received after fees and exchange-rate margin — nothing else.
  • Be transparent about limits. Rates are indicative, refresh roughly every ten minutes, and we always tell you to confirm the live quote on the provider's own site before sending.
  • Keep money separate from rankings. Advertising or affiliate income never changes the order of results, and any sponsored placement would be clearly labelled.
  • Fix mistakes quickly. If something looks wrong, tell us and we will investigate and correct it.
